Hi, I am Barbara

I am pleased to offer the practice of Shiatsu Massage here at CentredTherapies. Shiatsu is an energetic bodywork based on the traditions of Eastern Classical Medicine, similar to those which underpin acupuncture. It is practiced on a futon and the receiver is fully clothed. Shiatsu enables the receiver's body to come into balance and experience a holistic sense of well-being. It is deeply relaxing and can support mental and physical wellness. It is especially beneficial for helping to manage long-term conditions and receivers are given advice about acupressure points they can use themselves. I am trained as a nurse and have most recently worked in hospice both as a nurse and as a complementary therapist. I look forward to supporting you on your own health and well-being journey.
